March 6, 2010 - It was a big day for Peduli Anak. Early in the morning we welcomed the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, TGH. M. Zainul Majdi and some officials from the social department, schools, and several community leaders came to visit Peduli Anak by riding on their bikes. The purpose of the visit was to inaugurate Peduli Anak Primary School and Junior Secondary School. This was the first time Peduli Anak received a visit from the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara.

Located in the auditorium of our new school, the chairman of Peduli Anak, Khalid Isnulwadi expressed his deepest gratitude to Mr. Majdi and his officials for sparing their time visiting the foundation. Khalid also stressed that it's very important for government officials and NGOs to maintain a mutual partnership in order to realize the nation's goals. 

In addition, the founder of PA, Chaim Fetter, introduced a new program that PA is planning to execute in cooperation with the social ministry and related government institutions. The program will take Child Protection Policy into action. It will help not only street children and waifs, but also empower their families as we look deeper into the core of the problem on why children work/live on the streets and are exploited. 

In his speech, Mr Majdi expressed his amazement of seeing the complete facilities in Peduli Anak and his respect to the good management system. Additionally, he also highlighted the importance of securing all the helps for those unfortunate children so that they will have a brighter future and grow to be independent adults. 

Finally, The governor, who is also a doctoral student at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, inaugurated Peduli Anak School by signing the stone inscription to mark the official opening of Peduli Anak School. "Peduli Anak Foundation is such an inspiration to our society. The government will help them to find supports for their work," said Mr. Majdi. As a token of our appreciation, Peduli Anak presented a painting, a pictorial book, and DVD of the foundation to the Governor.

When the Governor was passing our football field, he was tempted to play football with us. He just kicked a ball and let the impromptu match with PA staff and his officials rolling. It didn't matter who the winner was, but it was surely a great honor for us to get the recognition of our work from the number one man on the island.
