Ramadan
Monday, October 6, 2008 - Ramadan has finished and the schools have opened their doors again! The school holidays are over now and all children have gone back to school. And that is a good thing because the children were extremely excited and could hardly wait to go back to school. They are very motivated to learn new things but they also enjoy the playtime at school. Peduli Anak keeps regular contact with the schools in order to monitor the children’s progress. This means a busy period for the Peduli Anak staff. The start of the schools coincided with the end of Ramadan, the most important Muslim celebration. Idul Fitry, as this celebration is called, is widely celebrated by all Muslims on the island. Approximately 95% of the Lombok population is Muslim, so you can imagine how big this celebration is! As in previous years, Peduli Anak contributed to this celebration in its own way and made it a very special Ramadan and Idul Fitry for the children! |
